Crossley Scott is a business which is heavily dependent on technology. Telephone calls, messaging and, increasingly so, video enables Crossley Scott to communicate with clients, who could be anywhere in the world.

Scott Shepherd, Director at Crossley Scott, found that their existing on-premise telephone system offered little opportunity for expansion and no opportunity to add new services, like instant messaging and video, which Crossley Scott would benefit from. Their phone system was reaching the end of its support agreement, and this proved to be the ideal time to investigate new solutions.

Scott also identified a need for a more flexible working user experience, without losing control of the vital statistics information required to ensure performance objectives were being achieved.

The feedback from Scott’s Account Executives was that they did not enjoy using the old telephone system and there was a general feeling that users personal technology was better than Crossley Scott’s legacy telephone system.     

Solutions & results

Oracle Telecoms consulted with Crossley Scott, arranging presentations with reputable Unified Communications Vendors, to explore new solutions. Crossley Scott favoured 8x8’s X Series, as 8x8 was very well suited to Crossley Scott’s requirements.

8x8 X Series offered a Cloud Based Unified Communication solution, which was deployed to each user using 8x8’s desktop & mobile applications. Overnight, Crossley Scott’s users were able to work from anywhere, and the experience to Crossley Scott’s clients and candidates was enhanced. Important statistical information and call recordings were accessible online, which increased Crossley Scott’s ability to monitor activity and the quality of conversations being held with clients.

8x8’s X Series product gave Crossley Scott instant messaging and high-definition video conferencing, which was game changing; giving Crossley Scott the ability to conduct online interviews, using very high-quality video, reflective of Crossley Scott’s high standards.

Importantly for Crossley Scott’s users, the Account Executive were happy to adopt 8x8 X Series and everyone saw the value of using the new functions and services. Account Executives reported that 8x8 X Series was a pleasure to use, which led to an overall increase in activity. The team benefitted from the flexibility of the 8x8 applications, which are used on Account Executive’s laptops & mobiles. The Account Executives can now make and receive calls from any device, mobile or a soft client on their laptops, increasing their availability.
