 Summary

Clear Edge, like most recruitment companies, view telecommunications as the life bloody of their business. Clear Edge’s continued growth has led to an even greater dependency on Telecoms & IT, with emerging requirements to integrate their voice calls with their Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).

Clear Edge has seen an upturn in international business in recently years and this has led to Clear Edge’s operating costs increasing, to a level which required focus and attention. Calls from landlines to international destinations and, importantly, international mobile phones have become prohibitively expensive and challenging to control.

Clear Edge spotted an opportunity to invest in their systems through the pandemic, with a view to improving the level of remote working flexibility, giving recruitment consultants greater flexibility to work from the office and remotely.

Terry Batty and Tom Fox, Clear Edge Search & Selection’s Directors, wanted to investigate new Unified Communications opportunities, which would support Clear Edge’s growth, give greater cost-control and provide enhanced technical capabilities.

Solutions & results

Oracle Telecom evaluated a number of vendors before recommending 8x8 X Series. There were a number of factors which led Oracle to recommend 8x8. The main reason being the cost control Clear Edge would gain from 8x8 X Series inclusive international calling tariffs. As inclusive international dial plans are built into 8x8’s user licence costs, Clear Edge’s international call costs reduced by 33%.

The introduction of 8x8 has delivered great functionality and flexibility to Clear Edge, who now benefit from voice conferencing, video conferencing, instant messaging and much more. Recruiment businesses are increasingly using video to interview candidates and 8x8’s high-definition video technology has transformed Clear Edge’s ability to instantly conduct online interviews. 8x8’s integration to CRM platforms and Microsoft Teams, allows Clear Edge to plan their next IT developments in the knowledge 8x8 will cater for their evolving requirements.

8x8 X Series has been deployed on Clear Edge’s Recruitment Consultants laptops and mobiles, so they now have the ability to work from anywhere, without relying on mobile phones. Call recordings can be accessed and downloaded online, which gives Clear Edge the ability to share meaningful information with both their candidates and clients.
